Hi Rita, Firstly, a Seed Warehouse would have all types of seed including agricultural. It is quite likely that you will not find Ballamy Square on any maps.Mill street was one of the worst slum areas in HULL. In such areas unscrupulous builders erected housing in every available space and I guess it would have been very difficult to keep up with for mapping purposes. Mill Street was also an Irish enclave. I don't know if you ancestors had any connections there. The Local Historian , JOHN MARKHAM, writes that a hierarchy of tenants and sub tenants existed. Even beds could have a 24 hour occupancy by being rented out for portions of a day. Ballamy Square would probably have been demolished at the beginning of the 20th. century when huge areas of slums were cleared from the town centre, many of them to make way for the new Ferensway. Hope that you will find this interesting. Is Bellamy Square a section of Mill Street? My gr grandfather was listed as a Seed Warehouse Man, is that for gardening? Any help would be appreciated because I would like to know if the house is still present. > Thanks in advance, > Rita Beaumier > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >
