Hi All, Well I only joined this list a few days ago, and thanks to a number of people that replied to my initial questions, I have at long last made some headway tracing my family tree ....YAHOOOO, so a big thank to those people. I have manged to find my Grandma's parents, she was Lillian Atkinson from Sculcoates. Her father was Mark Atkinson and her mother was Mary Ann Atkinson (maiden name Woodcock). Besides Lillian, there were 4 other children, Ada, Arthur Mark, Mary Lumly and Gladys Theresa, and they were all living at 1 Clarendon Ave, Sculcoates. I am still searching for info on my Grandad William Fyfe, who was brought up from a very young age by a couple called Beauchamp. However I can now confirm that this was William Hansell Beauchamp and his wife Ellen. In 1901 they are listed as living at 2 James Street, Sculcoates, he was aged 30 and she was 27. At this time they had no children and there was just the two of them living at this address. Can anyone hazard a guess as to how William Fyfe might have ended up with the Beauchamps? I don't think there was any form of legal adoption back in the early 1900's, but certainly there must have been childrens homes. I seem to have come to a full stop as far as finding William's real father who was Alexander Fyfe. I searched for the name on the 1901 census and only about 8 or 9 matches came up for the whole of the country. Two of those were under the age of 10 and the others all lived miles away. I have looked for Alexander Fyfe on various Scottish sites, but Fyfe is as common a name there, as Smith is in England so it's a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack. As always I would be very grateful for any help, or a gentle shove in the right direction, with any of the names that I'm researching :-) Linda _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
