My apologies to Colin as I sent the first message to him instead of the list. I agree with Colin. I am truly thankful that the ggpts postings are over for WYks. My reasons are as follows: 1. Many of the ggpts were not of the Ridings and not even of Yorkshire in some instances. 2. I didn't note a particular number, but I don't think there were many connections to ancestors. 3. I believe that subscribers to the lists post their interests often enough to generate any similar interests in surnames. 4. Some of us have ggpts that were already in the US, Canada, Australia, etc. For example, I am looking for ancestors born in the late1700's and before which is several generations removed from ggpts.
