Please does anyone on the list know anything about the game of rugby? I am trying to find the first name of E ROBINSON who played for HULL F C in the season of 1881-1882. Elizabeth in East Yorkshire.

Elizabeth Many moons ago (when I used to go to the local Rugby League matches), I remember a booklet being produced for the Centenary of Hull F.C. It included many pictures including some from the later years of the 19th century. You may be lucky and find that he is pictured in that. Photos of teams usually list the names of the players (although it may be just the initial for the first name). Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the booklet. Another couple of sources for you to consider is either (a) write directly to Hull R.L.F.C., or (b) try the Hull Daily Mail as they may have a photo in their archives. Best of luck.
