Just as a matter of interest I have today collected Newton On Rawcliffe, the latest MI booklet from the East Yorkshire FHS. It is number 200 in their series and a number of the booklets have 2 and sometimes 3 burial grounds in them, this makes it a big task to try to locate a memorial. The society has now recorded every churchyard between the Humber and Whitby and westwards to the edge of the city of York and well beyond Malton. For anyone who is an EYFHS member the society has created a database index which has every published MI listed and they provide a lookup service, at no cost other than a sae, which can check for the incidence of a name in any of the published MIs. If you are not sure of where to look this is a great help bearing in mind that many people were buried without headstones or that many have been removed over the years.
