My ancestor, Nixon Robinson, was b. July 1825 to Robert Robinson and Mary in Ulrome (or Skipsea) and emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1839. Known brothers and sisters include Thomas, Robert, Harriet and George. The 1841 census for Ulrome does not show a Robert Robinson but a Mary Robinson listed with children George age 12 and Mary age 9 is probably his mother so presumably his father had died. Mary is in the home of George Danby age 60. George is listed as "independent" and Mary as "F.S." What does "F.S." mean? Perhaps George Danby was a relative. If anyone has any information about either the Robinson or Danby family, I would appreciate any help. The East Yorkshire FHS has monumental inscriptions for Ulrome and Skipsea. Before ordering it (from the USA) could SKS let me know whether there are any Robinsons listed for Ulrome? Thanks in advance. Sondra Jernigan
