    1. [ERY] Schools in Hull in the 1850s
    2. I wonder if anyone could advise me on any archives ,etc relating to the above. My gg grandfather CHRISTOPHER HAMPSON then living at Reed Street Terrace,Hull/Sculcoates-West was a school master. It's such a change of occupation from the usual mule overlooker, farm worker, etc that it would be good to find out more about him. On an old map I saw a reformatory quite nearby! Thank you Pat Oliver(retired school mistress ie kindred spirit of C H )

    3. Hi Pat. Contact the Hull Archives at 79 Lowgate, Hull, HU1 2AA tel 01482 610610 as they have some Hull schools records. It would also be worth contacting the Hull Local Studies Library to see what they have www.LOCAL.Studies@hull.gov.uk Peter B ----- Original Message ----- From: <Patol70@aol.com> To: <ENG-EAST-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: 15 February 2003 14:23 Subject: [ERY] Schools in Hull in the 1850s > I wonder if anyone could advise me on any archives ,etc relating to the > above. > My gg grandfather CHRISTOPHER HAMPSON then living at Reed Street > Terrace,Hull/Sculcoates-West was a school master. > It's such a change of occupation from the usual mule overlooker, farm > worker, etc that it would be good to find out more about him. > On an old map I saw a reformatory quite nearby! > Thank you > Pat Oliver(retired school mistress ie kindred spirit of C H ) > > ______________________________
