Dear Listers, I'm new to the list, helping a friend start his SIMPKIN family history by ordering his father's 1890 birth certificate. Does the Bridlington Registrar's office have an email address so I can confirm that they hold this particular birth registration before writing? (Would prefer to order there rather than Southport.) Any help would be very welcome - thank you! Joan Nova Scotia, Canada
Hi Joan I do not believe you would be able to order anything from the Regristrar in Bridlington. We have done that in the past ourselves. However, we were in East Yorkshire last summer in July and went to Pocklington, a different district to get a certificate only to be told that they were centralizing the offices as of Monday. That included Bridlington and everything would now come out of Beverley. I am not sure if Beverley has an email address as we were there when it first opened. Make sure you get the correct address of Beverley as they moved offices to accommodate the extra records. The old address may yet still appear on some web sites. I will try and check and see if I come up with the correct address for you.
