    3. Dear Gail, One very small piece of information I have about Amy Johnson, which my mother has mentioned many times over the years, was that they went to the same school, Kingston High School in Hull, although not at the same time. The actor Tom Courtney was also a pupil there incidentally. Best wishes Martin Cross Brighton. ----- Original Message ----- From: <GHaigh9483@aol.com> To: <ENG-EAST-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 06, 2003 4:16 PM Subject: [ERY] Fenton, Johnson.( amy) > Hi everyone, > I am researching FENTON'S from the Seaton Ross area. > My Gt,Gt, Grandmother was a Johnson before marriage, and I believe she was a > cousin of AMY JOHNSON the flyer. 2. Martin/ Gail For what its worth there is a statue of Amy in Prospect Street outside the Prospect Centre in what used to be the site of Kingston General Hospital. My mother used to know the Johnson family who lived in Cottingham. My mother used to tell me that Amy was always called Amy until she became famous and was told to address her as Miss Johnson in future. I do have a number of Johnson names on my train but the youngest on my list was born in 1887. Whether these lead to Amy only time will tell.
