    3. Hi Peter, I don't know if you have this already but it is from the EYFHS Sculcoates Monumental Inscriptions. Sacred to the memory of MARY ELIZABETH daughter of GEORGE and MARTHA MALING who died Feb 8 1835 aged 8 months. Also WILLIAM the beloved son of the above who died Dec 8 1857, aged 19 years [ ] to the above named MARTHA MALIN who died Dec 1 1876 aged 69 years. Also, [ ] MALIN WHOLEY who died July 17 1870, aged 10 years, * grand children to the above. Also, GEORGE MALING, husband of the above MARTHA, who died Feb 15 187[ ] PR 1857 Dec 13 William MALIN, Reform Street 19 PR 1876 Dec 3 Martha MALIN, Reform Street 69 PR 1870 Jul 19 Fred Malin WHOLEY Dock Street Infant PR 1878 Feb 17 George MALING, Dock Street 70 *(sic) The Society did a stirling job of recording many of the Inscriptions. The Hull Corporation had decided to "tidy up" the Southcoates Lane area but unfortunately many stones were lost or broken up. (I will refrain from comment!!) As you will see, some of the inscriptions were worn but the Society had abviously checked the Public Records to enable the information on the stones to be verified. Hope you find this of interest.
