    1. [ERY] 1851 census look up request - Driffield
    2. Moira Forde
    3. Is there anybody who would be willing and able to look at the 1851 census for Driffield for my CONNELL /O'CONNELL (and possible other variants!) family? I would be *SO* grateful, as I have no access to the 1851 census near to me. I am looking for: William Connell (possibly O'Connell), born about 1831 and so aged about 20, his wife Rachel and their son John (possibly) aged about 1. There may have been other children I don't know about. John was born in Driffield and aged 10 in the 1861 census for Pickering (William and Rachel were hiding under the name of CANEL!!) I know about the 1861 census entry because an intrepid researcher on this list (to whom my thanks are due publicly - lets hear it for Wendy!!) found them for me. (They're in the 1881 as CORNELL in Beverley, and O'CONNELL in 1891). I haven't yet looked for William in the 1901 census, as he would have been aged about 70. No luck yet in finding William and Rachel's marriage in about 1850, either, but that's another story ... best wishes, Moira Christchurch, Dorset Researching FORD and O'CONNELL/CONNELL, Beverley and Driffield, Yorks; WHITE in Horncastle, Lincs.
