HI all Could SKS please help me to determine what this place may be. It is on the 1881 Census and the place of birth is recorded as something like...Yorks North H***esby. The last word is made up of possibly 7 letters definitely begins with an H and looks like by at the end. Many thanks cheers Linda (Perth West Oz)

Just a thought - is the Enumerator attempting to designate a Yorkshire North (Riding) town in which case the parish or village could be various locations e.g Helperby, Halnaby, Hawnby? Could it also end with 'ley' instead of 'by'? that raises many more chances. Just guessing!
