    3. Hi Doug Actually, I said the IGI entry was likely to be his. Although quite possibly correct, you can't accept that John's mother was Hannah simply because John's age and birthplace match an IGI entry of baptism. You need to do further research, for example: parish register; bastardy order, apprenticeship indenture. In 1851, there is a William Mason in the preceding household to John & Ann Mason in Ruswarp. William's wife Sarah is in Fylingdales with two children; William & Ann, in the household of her parents. Am sending you the census images. Good luck with your research. I think a trip to Northallerton Records Office is now called for. I live in Staffordshire and it's about 160 miles from here so I guess it will probably in the Spring. Thanks once again.
