My GGF known later as John (Owler)Ford Wainwright appears to have christened born as the illegitemate son of Ruth Foors in Muston in 1823. His baprismal name if John Oldgate Foord. Ruth was born in Sherbourne in 1801. In 1826 she married Matthew Wainwright in Dewsbury and John is clealry identified on 1841 in Dewsbury. A William Foord appears on the Muston electoral roll in 1834, tenant of not less than £50 per annum. My hypothesis is that Ruth may have gone to have John in Muston because her brother was there. It is possible that Oldgate is a reference to his father but IGI gives no Oldgates in the area. In 1841 she is a bobbin minder or winder in Dewsbury. Is it possible that she joined the exodus to the WR pre 1826 because parish supprt ran out. Would there be any records to showresponsibility of the birth?
