    3. I will throw in my 2 cents worth. In FreeBMD, there is a John Mason died in 1862 in Whitby. There are others in other years... -- Glen Johnson Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~wmjohnson1832 -----Original Message----- From: patkinson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, November 15, 2005 12:44 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [ERY] Handwriting Problem Hi Doug, The EYFHS translation of 1861 census has it as CRICK. However it does look like CREAK. If there is no trace of either then I would certainly go for CROOK. I looked in the 1851 census for Yorks and there is no mention of John Mason (52). He was JOHN MASON (age 62) and is listed in Boghall, Ruswarp, Whitby, page 18, RG 9/3649 and living with daughter Ruth Jones and grandson John Jones. His county of birth is almost certainly shown as Durham but can anyone tell me the town / parish? > Doug > > > ==== ENG-EAST-YORKS Mailing List ==== > To unsubscribe from this list send the command "unsubscribe" to > [email protected] (if in mail mode) or > [email protected] (if in digest mode.) > > ============================== > Search the US Census Collection.
