    1. 1841 Census Look Ups

    3. Hi All I know there is a CD for the 1841 but I am not sure how easily 'searchable' it is. I have been sent the following two families and wondered if it was possible to obtain the original copies of the census. It would seem William is the person I have been searching for although the transcription says he and his daughter were born in the county, I think he could be the one born in Lincolnshire as was his daughter Eve Elizabeth in Louth Lincs in 1831. Name Relation Age Occupation Born In Hanover Square, Lowgate, Hull William Burrell Head 50-54 Baker Yorkshire Elizabeth Burrell 10 " Elizabeth Thompson 65-69 Washer Woman " Lowgate is where Wilson BORRILL (son of William BORRILL and wife Elizabeth WILSON) and wife Sophia lived when the children were baptised during the late 1830's/early 1840's. Church Street, Drypool, Hull John Barril Head 20-24 Baker Not in Yorks Lewisa Barril 20-24 " Best Wishes Maria

    3. Maria, The first family you mention is at HO107 Piece 1230/4 Folio 16 page 25. The transcription you have is correct BUT for all three people the 'Where born' information is wrong. All three names have N for no. The second family is at HO107 Piece 1221/5 Folio 33 page 6 I would transcribe the household as follows: Borough of Kingston upon Hull Parish of Drypool Church St John Borill age 20 Baker no Lewisa Borill age 20 no William Redforth age 15 Ap yes In the process I found another baker in Drypool who is called Thompson: HO107 Piece 1221/5 Folio 40 page 19 Drypool John Street Edward Thompson age 25 Baker yes Ann Thompson age 25 yes Marey Thompson age 11 yes Hope this helps Regards Chris Watson --- Maria Borrill <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi All > I know there is a CD for the 1841 but I am > not sure how easily 'searchable' it is.
