    3. Hello listers. Have just had the good fortune to meet up with new cousins on this side of the pond (Ontario, Canada) and was pleasantly surprised to find that my Jewitt ancestors came over here in the mid 1840's from Yorkshire - George JEWITT born 1762 Howden married in 1784 Sarah CARR. Their children were born from 1785 - 1805 (ten children total) in Kilpin, Saltmarsh (spelling??) and Laxton - there is also reference to North Cave, Broomfleet and South Cave. I just wanted to pass on these names for now in case there are any new friends and cousins on this list. I look forward to postings from this list - I'm always curious as to what specific areas were like during the time frames that my ancestors were there - what the area is like now - etc. If anyone recognizes Grandfather George & Grannie Sarah, drop me a line and say hello. (they would be my 5 x great grandparents). Bye for now.

    3. Hi Deborah, I don't know if we have a connection but JEWITT is an uncommon name. I have JEWITT UNDERWOOD born about 1789 in Hemingbrough Yorks. His parents were ANN JEWITT born abt.1765 ?where, and THOMAS UNDERWOOD born about 1760. They married 24/5/1787 in Hemingbrough Yorks. ANN UNDERWOOD nee JEWITT and THOMAS were my 4XGreat grandparents. Any connection? 3. The Underwood name is not on my list - however - this is a very new quest for me so it could well show up. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks for replying.
