Dear All, My interests in East Yorkshire are centered around the family of LANGDALE of Kingston upon Hull who were in Barton le Street in the 1861 census. George LANGDALE born about 1856 at Barton le Street and on census 1881 at Kingston upon Hull, was son of John LANGDALE born about 1823 and Mary who died in 1883. George was married twice, having two sons, George Robert born 31.8.1878 who married Bertha ELLYARD and John W. born 1880 by his first wife Mary. His second wife was Ellen FOXALL by whom he had two daughters. Bertha ELLYARD born 17.2,1881 at Hull was the daughter of Marmaduke ELLYARD, born Cottingham 1828 and his second wife Jane SHEARSMITH, born 1842. Marmaduke was the second son of William ELLYARD [baptised 24 March 1798 at Nafferton], and Ann. Their other sons were Samuel and John. William was the son of Samuel ELLYARD [1752-1834] and Rachel BARKER who were married at Nafferton 2 February 1791 and had 5 sons John, Samuel, William, Nicholas and Charles and three daughters Hannah, Nanny and Mary between 1791 and 1809.
