Hi Murray Thanks a lot for your information, I desperately needed some good lateral thinking. I am sure we will find there is at least a link early on as Laverack is quite a distinctive name and they all stuck together in the early days. I am also pleased to see the Hairsine's are globally active in research. I have a good handle on most of William Laverack and Mary Bird's many descendants; I just cannot make real progress on William's family (apart from his sister Elizabeth). There are two other possible siblings on the IGI for Bubwith. Thomas baptised 1 Jan 1801 and Alice baptised 9 Mar 1798. I will order Eastrington parish registers on film as I see it is very close indeed to Balkholme as the crow flies and your Thomas is in the right time frame. In one of my old notebooks I have transcribed some Priestley's from the Howden register (but not Sarah) located at Duncotes which I find from multimap is literally just around the corner from Balkholme so I will also add Howden registers again to my growing list of re-looks.
