Hello List, This is my first post on the East Riding list as most of my research has been in the West Riding up to now. I have now found that my 4 x gt grandfather Ralph HUTCHINSON, born abt 1792 in Hunmanby, was residing at Muston Hall in the 1851 census. My 3 x gt grandfather Peter Russel HUTCHINSON is also in residence at the address. Oddly enough, Ralph has had his name entered as Ralph Hutchinson PINFIELD. I have no idea why that name should appear. His children are listed as just HUTCHINSON. Anyway, Ralph is the head and widow and is a freehold farmer of 256 acres. I have done a search on Muston Hall and found very little, but one interesting thing I did find was that it was once owned by the RUSSELL family. Ralph Hutchinson’s father, William, married Ann RUSSELL in 1771, also in Hunmanby. Quite a spooky little link at this early stage. Does anyone have any information either the HUTCHINSON or RUSSELL families and / or Muston Hall. Hi, There 1823 Baines Directory lists Muston as having a population of 350 people. And Christopher Russell is listed as a gentleman of Muston Lodge.
