Brian, Do you have an exact address? The even numbers were on the north side of the street. Behind the shops and houses fronting the street there were also many courts and yards with houses, especially on the north side. I think that many of these were probably cleared before WWII in slum clearances. There was allso bomb damage. I have a photograph from c1940/1941 of the north side taken from the corner of Waterhouse Lane showing destruction of properties (probaably Nos. 2 - 10) and the Methodist Chapel. Beyond this Nos. 12 and 14 are still there, but beyond ths are what look like factory buildings, which makes me think that some of the housing had been cleared and redeveloped before WWII.
