Hi Tim, I have the South Cave Wiles in my family. The furthest back I have is William b. 1801, m. Charlotte Drewery in 1834. I've spent time trying to sort out the various 'clans' & have also found Marmaduke as a common name. I would love to find a direct link into my family - Marmaduke is too cool a name!- but no joy yet. The first is Mary Wiles born 1814 at Great Cowden. Mary became pregnant and took George Dixon to court. The court told him to pay 1s 6d a week (detauils in East Riding archives). Instead of paying that he married her! The other Wiles I have is Mary's father William born 1786 d. 1860. Somehow I have omitted to show his birth place. I will be doing some checking on this. William married Ann Ockleton in 1813 in Aldborough. Guess these are not in your areas of search?
