Hi, I'm new to this list and have too many East Yorkshire ancestors to list here. My own line is RAWLING. I've gone as far back as John RAWLING who married Christiana (Christy) LAPISH in Norton by Malton in 1799 (IGI). I haven't been able to find the births of either of these, (neither seem to have been born in Norton) but they are both buried in Sculcoates. Sometime between the birth of their youngest child, Harriet, and John's death in 1813 the family moved to Sculcoates, where presumably my 3x Great Grandfather met and married Elizabeth JOHNSON in or before 1830. I've been to Beverley a few times with the intention of finding the marriage and have searched most of the churches in both Sculcoates and Hull with no success. My Great, Great Grandfather John RAWLING seems to have had two baptisms....is this likely? >From the IGI there was a baptism of John RAWLIN (no G) with parents William RAWLIN and Elizabeth in Sculcoates in 1830. There was also a joint baptism of John RAWLING and his sisters Emma and Sophia at the Mill Street Primitive Methodist church in Hull in 1837 with parents William RAWLING and Elizabeth JOHNSON. So my questions are these. Is it likely that my GG Grandfather had 2 baptisms? Would the marriage records for Mill Street Primitive be in the Hull Archives? (They are not in Beverley). I would love to find someone on this list who has any of my ancestors in their tree.
