    3. Bill, They are at the Borthwick Institurte, York. See the following link: http://www.york.ac.uk/inst/bihr/guideleaflets/guideprob.pdf (end of page 1 top of page 2) They are the Probate Act Books (not Administration Act Books - my mistake) and contain grants of probate of wills as well as grants of letters of administration. I guess that searching the indexes might be time consuming. I can't remember whether they are indexes in the modern sense of calendars arranged by year. They are manuscript and there are 29 vols for 1731-1858. They may have been filmed by the LDS but I'm not sure.
