It is possible that he was the Mayor of South Cave, I don't have time to check facts, but South Cave is a town and may have the entitlement of a mayor or maybe it would be Market Weighton. I think Drewton may be nearer to South cave then North Cave if the location of the present Drewton Stray Manor is anything to go by. I may be giving mis information here and I am too busy to check at the moment. A google search of Drewton Manor, North Cave and South Cave will give you lots of interesting information. Have you looked at the GENUKI pages. cheers sheila ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Chamberlain" <chariklo@sympatico.ca> To: <eng-east-yorks@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 01, 2008 3:04 PM Subject: [ENG-EAST-YORKS] Drewton Manor > Patricia L wrote: > >> > Good Evening , >> > Thank you very much for all the help with North Cave. >> > Unfortunately I have hit yet another brick wall. >> > I wonder if any one might have an idea of how I might trace who was >> > the >> > Head of Household of *Drewton Manor in 1897?* >> > It has been suggested that he might have been the Mayor ..but that >> > might be >> > family folk lore. >> > Pat > > In 1901 just four years later:- > > Walter George REDFERN , 44 grain, > seed, ? merchant b.
