    3. Further to my earlier post, the excellent staff at Hull Local Studies Library advise that an 1823 directory lists 9 companies of dyers, of whom 8 were silk dyers, which I find a surprisingly large number. The 1803 and 1810/11 directories list GREENWOOD & CO, Silk & Muslin Dyers at premises 16 BLANKET ROW, Hull. Can anyone help me with 16 Blanket Row, its location, and if anyone resided there in early censuses or directories? Thanks and regards Bill. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Webster" <wbwebster@optusnet.com.au> To: <eng-east-yorks@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 30, 2008 6:30 PM Subject: Silk dyers | Anyone know of the history of silk dying in Hull?
