Hi, Does anyone have any LAPISH ancestors from Malton and/or Sculcoates in their tree? My 4x Great Grandparents John RAWLING and Christiana (Christy) LAPISH were married in Norton by Malton in 1799 and died in 1813 & 1831 respectively in Sculcoates. In an effort to find parents or siblings (and dates/places of birth) of either of these I have been searching the IGI for LAPISH marriages across about 20 years in both Malton and Sculcoates and have come across these marriages of people called LAPISH who may or may not be siblings of Christiana...... Sculcoates marriages Elizabeth LAPISH and Robert BEEDOM 28 May 1792 Ann LAPISH and Samuel MACKEY 29 Jan 1798 Sarah LAPISH and George JACKS 2 Dec 1801 Harriet LAPISH and William RAWLING 27 Nov 1808 (too much of a coincidence....I feel sure these were siblings of my 4xG G'parents) Mar. LAPISH and Wm. Cannady 29 Aug 1811 St Leonard New Malton marriages William LAPISH and Hannah BIELBY 19 Dec 1802 Joseph LAPISH and Ann WARDELL 5 Nov 1804* Honor LAPISH and Richard WELBORN 3 Dec 1804 *Joseph & Ann LAPISH's son Thomas Wardale LAPISH married Harriet RAWLING in 1829 in Sculcoates. (Harriet RAWLING was the sister of my 3x G G'father William RAWLING) >From this I believe that Joseph and Harriet LAPISH were siblings of Christiana, and William RAWLING was the brother of John. Does anyone recognise any of these marriages? I would love to hear from anyone who has any of these in their tree.
