    3. Chris I was born and brought up in Hessle and saw all the signs round the area which said Haltemprice UDC. I have lived away for sometime but guess the UDC was abolished when the county Admin boundaries were revised in 1974 when East Riding of Yorkshire became that dreadful name of Humberside. Happily it has changed back to East Yorkshire (not quite the same as it used to be). I think the area covering part of Haltemprice became Beverley and the former Headquarters of Haltemprice at Anlaby House was closed. After years of derelict Anlaby House has now been restored and converted to flats. You are correct in saying that Haltemprice is a Parliament Constituency. To be honest until Colin mentioned Howden Price I had never heard of it. Had I remained at Hessle High School (I left to go to another school in Berkshire at 13) to the end I may have learned about this. Next time I visit my siblings in the area I will ask them about it.
