Hi Folks, Please find below the updates/additions to the Genuki Yorkshire pages for the past 3 or 4 months. There is less than usual due to my having to do other things with my time (like "keeping the wolf from the door"), and I have undoubtedly missed one or two in my hurry! During this period: Yorksgen 2002 ocurred - thanks to Anne and Conrad once again. Unfortunately I was only able to make it to the dinner in York, but I gather a good time was had by all. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, Yorksgen 2002 was a get together and series of lectures/visits etc. attended by some of the subscribers to Yorksgen. It is my intention to produce a Genuki Yorkshire web-page containing a list of all the CDs available for the Yorkshire area, but this takes time that I currently don't have, so here are the releases that I know of for the past 3 months: British data archives. Hi, Graham, Here they are in the 1881 Census. Dwelling: 29 Abbot St Census Place: Gateshead, Durham, England Source: FHL Film 1342214 PRO Ref RG11 Piece 5037 Folio 125 Page 30 Marr Age Sex Birthplace James WARRINER M 48 M Scorby, York, England Rel: Head Occ: Glasshouse Labourer Elizabeth WARRINER M 35 F Rickell, York, England Rel: Wife Sarah Ann WARRINER 12 F Dunnington, York, Rel: Daur Occ: Scholar Rosetta WARRINER 11 F Dunnington, York, Rel: Daur Occ: Scholar Henry Thos. WARRINER 2 M Gateshead, Durham, Rel: Son If you contact your local Heritage Library and enquire as to them having the St. Catherine's Index, you will be able to search for Rosetta's birth details. The Index is in quarters. You can start with 1870 as this date is given in the 1881 census. When you find it make a note of the quarter. The registration district and the folio number. (e.g. Rosetta Warriner, December quarter 1870, 8D-4567, York) Then, if you wish, you can obtain a copy of her birth certificate from the place of registration. You can do the same for the death certificate of James. Working forward from 1881. Again, if you wish. I do not know if you are aware of what you will find on the birth certificate. The interesting part, I think, is the mother's maiden name. It starts you another line of enquiry!!! Hope this helps your research. Best wishes, Ron Hamilton.
I have changed the look of my website to include a navigation bar on the home page, hopefully this will make it even easier to access the pages you want to look at. Greetings; I am new to this list & hoping I can find my grandmother & her family via SKS. She was Rosetta WARRINER, born in Dunnington about 1869 according to her marriage cert. Her father James WARRINER was dead by then. If any lister can find her actual birth or any Census records I'd be very grateful. She married my g'father William VEROW on 23 Nov 1889 at Gateshead Registor Office aged 19, when she lived in Abbot Street Gateshead, Any help gratefully received. Graham (in Wet Worcestershire)

Looking for BURDER family connections. Frank Burder BRUMBY was born 1891 in Waddington, Lincolnshire. He married Dora PIDCOCK 1913 at St. Mary's, East Leake, Yorkshire. Frank's father was William Burder BRUMBY (born 1855 Hull, Yorkshire). In 1875, he married Anne Matilda ROLFE (from London). In 1881, William and Annie live at Bourne Street Livery Stable in Sculcoates. (I think William remarried in 1919 Hull to Florence COOK). William's parents were William BRUMBY and Elizabeth. For some reason, I think William came from the Brumby family from Tuxford, Nottinghamshire. I found an Elizabeth ARBON married in Sculcoates on same page as a William BRUMBY and an Elizabeth Vasey BARBER (misprint of BURDER?) from Nottinghamshire on same page as William. Any connections or informantion? PEte
