    3. I've just done a further check - the PRO site also gives the dates I gave originally - if we can assume they have got it right! Regards Anne

    3. I've just checked the Oxford Companion to Family History (not the same book I quoted before - sorry I can't remember its title!). The dates I gave would appear to be correct. The only difference is that the dates I gave are the Sunday and the Oxford Companion gives the Saturday. The original book made the point that as the 1861 one was taken on Easter Sunday a lot of people were away from home. This book also had another tip which might help 1901 searchers of elusive ancestors. It said to try what it called "creative spelling" and suggested that you ask several children to write down your name and see what they come up with. This might be very useful after some of the mistranscriptions I've seen so far! Regards Anne

    3. I copied Kevin Shucksmith,s list of census dates and had the years 1841 - 1891 confirmed from my book Explore the Family's Past from Readers Digest. A very good book which covers virtually everything to do with genealogy; even old hand writing. It appears Anne's dates may be incorrect, but I would stand to be corrected. Peter (N/C upon Tyne)

    1. [ERY] 1891 census look-up please
    2. Bev Preston
    3. Hello all... I was wondering if I could possibly ask SKS for a look-up on the 1891 census. I was wondering who was living at 6 Arthur Street. I am so hoping to find my great grandparents before they married. I am also wondering if maybe there was anyone else living with them at the time. Thanks so much, Beverley, BC, Canada

The latest information we've got is that he ran a shop at the Longbeach Leisure Park, South Cliff, Hornsea, from where he left about 5 months ago. The staff there gave me a temporary contact address in Hull, but it seems to be incorrect, or he has moved again. Also there is no telephone attached to the address, which is 126 College Grove, Hull. Mr Elliott should be in his late 40's years old now. Maybe he has gone back to driving a taxi in Hull, a business he was involved with before. If you have any information or tips that could help us find Mr Elliott, please help. Thank you very much!!! ______________________________________________________ Check out all the latest outrageous email attachments on the Outrageous Email Chart! - http://viral.lycos.co.uk --=_NextPart_Caramail_0051481030977308_ID--

    3. Hi I have being doing research on my ancestors, the MARKHAM FAMILY for a while now and have discovered that the family were resident in Wressle, Near Howden and the surrounding area as Blacksmiths for more than a hundred years (at least 1770 to 1880's). As they appear to have been in the same area for such a long time I was wondering if anyone else was researching this family and we could exchange information. I have visited the Beverley Archives and noted all that I could find regarding the MARKHAMS' but finding some difficulty fitting the names into the correct branches of the family and Beverley is a long way to visit often. Any help would be gratefully received Freda Good Malvern. Worcs.

    2. Colleen Andrews
    3. Could SKS with access to the 1851 E Yorks census please look up for me Sarah Staveley RIPPON in Beverley? She should have been about 16 years old (give or take) & unmarried, but possibly living with someone, or living with illegitimate children.....she baptized 2 sons Thomas & Charles on the same day in 1853...She herself was the illegitimate daughter of Hannah RIPPON (who would have been about 39 in 1851) & presumably a Mr. STAVELEY. If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful.... Colleen Andrews

    1. [ERY] William Elston Hall and Family
    2. I'm trying to find out what happened to the family of William Elston Hall (born Breighton 1851) and his wife Sophie Elizabeth (Clarkson, born Anlaby 1854) and their 8 children. The last I have is the 1881 census when they are at Mincrod Terr. Holderness Road, Beverley. a failed farmer. None of them appear in the 1891 or 1901 census documents, so I was wondering if they emigrated and how to research it. Thanks Robert Hall

Albert Avenue was where the swimming baths were, two streets up from Walton Street, where they hold Hull Fair.
