Hello All Can any kind soul provide me with a list of persons who have been Mayor of Bridlington between about 1900 and 1950 or so. I have just discovered a family connection with Brid in 1901 and this has prompted my Dad to announce a vague recollection of a relative being Mayor. Of course he cannot remember the surname and I thought if I could show him a list it might JUST jog his memory ! My Great Grandmother's sister Christiana Gibson was living in Bridlington in 1901 working as a School Mistress and I suspect that the mysterious "Mayor" would be either her husband or perhaps a son. Any help gratefully received! Deb Walker Dewsbury West Yorkshire

Can't think of any others. you could try the Castle museum in York as well, maybe. Hello All I have started making some posts to the Mariners List of fishermen who died at sea. These lists originate in Hull so I thought it might be helpful to post them here too. Hope the listowner has no objection (there are 2 lists, one for men and one for boys and 109 names altogether). The first post follows separately. Beverley Could this be your Frances in the 1901 Census ? Francis Parker 14 Goodmanhan Yorkshire E Yorkshire North Newbald General Servant Domestic Cheers Denise -----Original Message----- From: Bev Preston [mailto:prestonb@goldcity.net] Sent: 20 September 2002 06:03 To: ENG-EAST-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ERY] family lost? Hello all... Well, I have a question. If a birth cert. has the mother down as the informant, does this most likely mean that the father was deceased? I have a birth cert. here that is for a Frances Ann PARKER, dated 28 June 1886, Goodmanham. Her father is listed as being John Thomas PARKER but the informant is Ann PARKER (mother). I have not been able to find even Frances on the 1901 census. She should have been about 15 in 1901. She was married in 1906 in Goodmanham, so I am assuming that she never strayed far from her home town. Any suggestions as to what my next move should be? I was also wondering, if by chance, there was anyone out there that might be able to do a search for the parents of Frances? They would be John Thomas PARKER and Ann BLANCHARD. Any help here would be very appreciated.
