I am now in the middle of formatting the information I have collected to send out to the family in Australia. I recently bought a delightful book entitled 'The East Yorkshire Village Book' which has given me a lot of information of the above villages which I am sure will be of great interest to the third generation Australian born relatives who know very little of their roots. I would love to be able to include some photographs as well. I have found photographs of the churches at Howden and Eastrington on the Web. 3. Hi Listers, I wonder if SKS could help me out with a look up on the 1841/51 census. I'm looking for details of Charles WOODCOCK born c.1846 in Hull. I have details of him from the 1881 census, married and living in Sutton and Stoneferry with his wife and family. I think his father was William Wilson WOODCOCK, but I need to confirm this and find out the name of his mother. Any help much appreciated. I have details from the 1881 census that say he was born c.1846 in Hull, but I can't seem to find anymore for him. He married a lady called Sarah who was from Kirkstead Wharf in Lincolnshire, so am wondering if in fact Charles was from Lincolnshire too and not Hull. Any help much appreciated. 3. Hi Colin, Perhaps the message could be slightly re worded as it is probably not accurate to describe FHSs as commercial organisations, most of them having an educational charity status and run like Genuki. entirely by volunteers. To categorise them with booksellers and CD Rom sellers is misleading to people who are just starting with family history as a pastime.
