    3. There are quite a number of Edmonds in the Brandesburton printed parish register which ends in 1837. It is published by the Yorkshire Archaeological Society Parish Register Section, and I think still available from them as on my 2002 price list, cost £10.00 plus p&p. Orders to YASPRS, Claremont, Clarendon Road, Leeds, LS2 9NZ. It may also be available via an LDS family history library on fiche or film and it may be on a CD that has been produced but I can't remember who sells it. There is only one MI but that is a WW2 war grave in the churchyard Peter B ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lyn Tregilgas" <lyn.tregilgas@senet.com.au> To: <ENG-EAST-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: 12 March 2003 22:17 Subject: [ERY] EDMONDS/CASTLE > Does anyone have any information on the above families please. 3. Just as a matter of interest I have today collected Newton On Rawcliffe, the latest MI booklet from the East Yorkshire FHS. It is number 200 in their series and a number of the booklets have 2 and sometimes 3 burial grounds in them, this makes it a big task to try to locate a memorial. The society has now recorded every churchyard between the Humber and Whitby and westwards to the edge of the city of York and well beyond Malton. For anyone who is an EYFHS member the society has created a database index which has every published MI listed and they provide a lookup service, at no cost other than a sae, which can check for the incidence of a name in any of the published MIs. If you are not sure of where to look this is a great help bearing in mind that many people were buried without headstones or that many have been removed over the years. Check their website www.eyfhs.org.uk Peter B

    3. The 1840 trade directory for Scarborough and some other towns is on the Genuki pages under the parish information. They were the Yello Pages of the day. Remember that you didn't need to live on the coast to be a boat builder, the inland rivers eg the Ouse and Derwent were used for navigation so look at villages along the river banks Cheers Caroline ----- Original Message ----- From: <seosimhin@btopenworld.com> To: <ENG-EAST-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 11, 2003 6:22 AM Subject: [ERY] first post > > > I am trying to find alleged boatbuilders named GEOGHEGAN > said to be of Scarboro. There is however, a Mary McGlogling which sounds the same and could possibly be a phonetic recording error. I will give you the details and let you make your own mind up about it. 3. If anyone has access to burial registers, MIs or any other records I would be very grateful if they could find the death reference for George Drinkall JEFFERSON . He was alive and living at 2 Gladstone Terrace, Bridlington when the 1891 census was taken but I can't find him anywhere after that and believe he died shortly afterwards. He is nowhere to be found on the 1901 census. Many thanks Norma ERYFHS membership number 4882

    3. My grgrandmother Mary McLoughlin age 23 (cotton spinner) m. 29/11/1852 to Alfred Hair age 22 - address 58 Scott St, Sculcoates. I have the 1851 census index for Holy Trinity Hull which shows Alfred age 18 living with family: father Patrick and mother Sarah etc. No mention of Mary. If anyone has access to other Hull areas of the 1851 census (esp Sculcoates) could you please lookup Mary McLoughlin (or similar Mc/ Mac spellings). Also any other names with the same folio no. Many thanks Peter
