    1. Re: [ERY] Census Index
    2. Not quite Chris. The 1851 census has been partly transcribed and covers only the area of East Yorkshire. I say partly transcibed because it just gives names, ages, birth places and census references. It does not give addresses, occupations nor the relationships. For these you will need to look at the CD's. At least you will the reference details. One also has to bear in mind there are several books with these transcriptions but if it is only one area then only one book is needed. For Hull alone there are at least 5 books to buy... East Sculcoates, West Sculcoates, Holy Trinity in 3 volumes plus I think Myton, which I haven't got. The EYFHS 1861 CD is fully transcribed and covers the whole of East Yorkshire plus areas of West and North Yorkshire as far as Whitby. 3. Phil~ Thanks for sending the image of Benjamin HARRISON, and wife Harriett, Wilberfoss Township. Unfortunately, we have been trying to print the image that you sent, but without success. We have tried different ways too. Sorry, is there another way to send it, or, if someone else has a way, I would surely appreciate it. 1. Re: [ERY] Census Index
    2. The question was for a census INDEX. 61-01 are avaiable on line at Ancestry.co.uk 1881 is also available for free on the LDS site. In addition the LDS CD's have a earch facility. EYFHS have produced an 1861 CD for the area which is searchable though not like the LDS 1881 census. EYFHS have produced a number of books of different areas of the 1851 census listing census names and the census reference. There are no searchable index for the 1841, 1851, 1871 and 1891 census apart from the two latter being on Ancestry. See also above for 1851 and 61 census. 3. They are in Rawcliffe, with children Mary (aged 4), Tom (3) and Edward (2m). Mary's husband is on the 1901 Census as Henry. Their marriage is on FreeBMD as Jul/Sep 1894, Herman Henry KIELSER and either Mary BUCK or Mary Jane PEACOCK. There are several other births of possible children on FreeBMD. 1. James, Jubb, Pennock, Paull, Roos, Skeffling, Ottringham, Hornsea, and Scarborough
    2. Kirby James
    3. Hi, I'm a newcomer to this list and am researching relatives who came from Paull, Roos, Skeffling, Ottringham, Hornsea, and Scarborough. Relevant surnames are James, Jubb, and Pennock. I've put the results so far on-line at http://www.lkjh.org/family_history/index.html CROUCH and JUBB My great grandfather Frederick William CROUCH (b. 1868, Manea Cambridge) moved to Paull, Yorkshire with his brother John William CROUCH between 1871 and 1881. I'm curious as to why these two brothers moved from one agricultural district to take up agricultural work in Yorkshire. http://www.lkjh.org/family_history/legacy/a1.htm#i110 Frederick William CROUCH married Hannah Smith JUBB (b. 1860, Ottringham). http://www.lkjh.org/family_history/legacy/a1.htm#i177 Hannah's grandfather was Robert Welborn Hotham JUBB a tailor in Hornsea and Roos. http://www.lkjh.org/family_history/legacy/a1.htm#i193 I'd be very interested to make contact with anyone exploring this JUBB line. JAMES On my father's side his family bible and his own notes record JAMESes going back to 1797 http://www.lkjh.org/family_history/index.html . Most recently they were farmers based at Melbourne, Yorks; Weghill, Preston, Yorks and Turmer Hall, Ganstead, Yorks. PENNOCK I'd be interested to know whether anyone else has been researching the PENNOCK family line - I've already made contact with Robin PENNOCK - who has proved to be an invaluable source of knowledge about PENNOCKs in the Scarborough area. Thanks Kirby James, Devon [email protected]
