Michael~ Wish I could help you out. My G.G.Grandfather was Benjamin HARRISON. On the 1841 census of Barmby Moor, Dist of Bishop Wilton, he is listed, but with no mention of where born !! His age is 45...born approx., 1796. There just may be a possibility of them being brothers ?? I will keep your e-mail in my Harrison file, and if I come up with anything close, I will contact you. Hello Christina, Well met. I only very recently discovered my relationship to the RANK family, and whilst trawling the 'net came across your correspondence on the subject, through the ERY Lists of 2001, in the Archives. I'm hoping to get hold of the biography of Joseph RANK through the interlibrary loan - but often in the past I have waited months for books, and at my age I am very impatient wanting to know everything yesterday. I have built up a considerable RANK tree. My family, the FEWSONs are a relatively small Holderness family, and my ancestors have been interested in their genealogy since around 1800. Of course that was all direct line stuff of the male lines. I followed the female lines. Then every line that married into the family followed by every line that married into them, and so on in ad finitum! I am related/connected through marriage six times to the RANKs. On the above basis I am related to the RINGROSEs, RINGROSE-VOASEs, VOASE-RINGROSE-VOASEs and VOASEs and therefore the WILSONs of Tranby Croft etc, etc, etc. I don't expect you to remember what was in the bio., but I don't have your branch of the RINGROSEs and wonder whether we can conect? I'm having trouble creating files at the moment so will give an outline: One of my John FEWSONs married a SMITH. Her sister, Fanny Voase Elizabeth SMITH, (their mother was a VOASE), married Thomas RINGROSE who changed their name to RINGROSE-VOASE and later to VOASE alone. To complicate matters four of their children took the name RINGROSE and two, RINGROSE-VOASE. [All to do with inheriting William VOASE's money]. They lived at Anlaby House. I don't have Thomas RINGROSE's parentage - is he related to your family. I don't have Hannah VOASE RINGROSE. I've rambled on far too long - I hope you haven't fallen asleep :-) With kind regards, Peter (Fewson); from a stormy, very windswept St. Ives, Cornwall.
I am researching the following names - BANKS : Stretton (Cheshire), Manchester (Lancs) BRADBURY : Lymm (Cheshire) BROWNBILL : St Helens (Lancs) CALLAGHAN : St Helens (Lancs), Ireland DANIELS : Bowdon (Cheshire) GABRIEL : St Helens (Lancs), Liverpool (Lancs), Dublin (Ireland) GARDNER : Dublin (Ireland) GRATWICH : Barlaston (Staffs) HIGHAM : Lymm (Cheshire), Leigh (Lancs) JOHNSON : Over Peover (Cheshire) JOHNSON : Barlaston (Staffs) JOHNS(T)ON : Wallasey (Cheshire), Birkenhead (Cheshire), Hull (East Riding), North Shields/Tynemouth (Northumberland), Ryton (Co. Durham) JONES : Whitchurch (Shrops) LEIGH : Lymm (Cheshire) MILLER : Lymm (Cheshire), Grappenhall (Cheshire) MOSTON/MOSSON : Lymm (Cheshire), Over Peover (Cheshire), Marthall (Cheshire), Snelson (Cheshire) MYCOCK : Barlaston (Staffs) NORBURY : Liverpool (Lancs) PERCIVAL : Lymm (Cheshire), Antrobus (Cheshire) RICHARDSON : Lymm (Cheshire), Prescot (Lancs) TABERN : St Helens (Lancs) THOMPSON : North Shields/Tynemouth (Northumberland) WILLIAMSON : Cheshire WINSTANLEY : Lymm (Cheshire) WOOTTON : Barlaston (Staffs), Moddershall (Staffs), Stone (Staffs) I would be pleased to hear from anyone with similar interests. Thanks Tim

Hello everyone, I'm lookin for any information on the following family. Joseph Smith METCALF(e) born c1864, Kirkstall or Meanwood (Leeds). He is probably the Joseph S. Metcalf on the 1881 Leeds census living at 135 Meanwood Road, son of Joseph & Elizabeth. On this census there is also a brother Thomas Metcalfe, born 1860-1, Burton Leonard, Yorkshire and grandmother, Elizabeth Metcalf, born 1810-1, Sawley, Yorkshire. Can anyone tell me where Sawley, Meanwood and Kirkstall are located? Are Meanwood & Kirkstall part of Leeds? Joseph Smith METCALF married 1888 Pocklington district, Edith K. KENT, d/o Robert KENT (born 1861, Market Weighton) & Mary CHARLTON. To US in 1909, Salem/Hamilton, MA. Their children are: > Jessie Kent, born & died 1882, Market Weighton, Yorkshire - d/o Edith Kent > Gertrude Metcalf, born 1890, Leeds > Doris Mary Metcalf, born 1892-3, Leeds - to Salem, MA - married Lloyd > Marsters who was apparently born in Canada. > Edna Kent Metcalf, born 1897, Leeds - to Salem, MA - married Walter Johnson. Any help on this family would be most appreciative. Thank you, Regards, Kathy Baker, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Hi All~ I have, on the 1851 census, John HARRISON, age 32, farm labourer, born in Elvington. He was married to a lady by the name of Jane, age 32, labourers wife, born in Barmby Moor. Children: George Noton HARRISON, age 9, son, born in Barmby Moor. William HARRISON, age 7, son, born in Barmby Moor. His wife had died shortly after 1851. John HARRISON remarried Feb. 16th, 1858 to Mary DUGGLEBY who was from Bishop Wilton. Anyone out there with information on descendants of these boys? Bill Harrison, Ontario, Canada.

Thanks for the offer but so far I have found them on the 1871, 1861 & 1851 when they are in Liverpool. I have only found two children - Richard and John who were born appoximately 1833 & 1835 but in London (according to the census). So I don't expect they would have been in Yorkshire on 1841 census but whether they are still in London or have moved to Liverpool I don't know. I am really struggling with this family and any information/help would be gratefully received. In all liklihood, it is not bounced mail. It usually means that someone with your email address in their address book has been infected by one of a series of viruses and the virus is using your address either directly or indirectly in its attempts to replicate itself throughout the web through using your address as being the 'sender' or through directly sending you a false notice that some of your purportedly sent mail has failed to be sent. If you attempt to open the attachments to those mails without any protection, you will be activating an executable program which will, in turn, infect your computer. Most anti-virus software handles these type attacks with ease provided your virus definitions are fully up-to-date. The best defence, of course, is in knowing that you never sent an email to be bounced in the first place.
