Everything you need to know about life in Norfolk in the early decades of the 20th century: ... putting down the pig, washday, the chores, callers at the door, children's pleasures, what we wore, medcine, church and chapel, hard times, the social ladder, farming, crafts and trades, school, getting about ...... 'Norfolk within Living Memory' compiled by the Norfolk Federation of Women's Institutes published by Countryside Books & NFWI in 1995 (ISBN 1 85306 339 8). More personal recollections of town and country life with a bias towards the 1930's and '40's. 'West Norfolk Fertilisers 1872 - 1965' by W.F. Sampson published 1993 (ISBN 0 9522132 0 6).
