Hi everyone I have a reference to one of my distant relatives as a 'traveller does any one know if this had the same meaning then, (mid nineteenth century) as today? If this is the case it would seem I have hit a dead end! I am researching the family name of York in Colchester Essex, any information regarding this would be appreciated. Daniel York Snr (traveller) deceased on Daniel York (jnr) wedding certificate of 1847. Daniel York (jnr) married Sarah Collins on Nov 28th 1847 at Holy Trinity Church Colchester. Daniel and Sarah are later described as Tailors. They have various children, I have yet to find if either Daniel had brothers or sisters. Many thanks Paul
