    3. Good Evening Listers, Does anyone know if the total April 5, 1891 British Census, by all counties in England and Sources, is on a website or does anyone have the data on zip file? We desire downloading the total census so we can review the data for the surnames: SEADON, SEADEN, AND SHADICK. In the future we will also be asking for the same information for the 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, and 1881 Census. We know the 1881 Census has been put on disc by IGI, however we have found some errors in the addresses, (house or home numbers which did not exist) especially in Middlesex County and now desire checking the actual Census. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Rita (nee Seadon) and Don Shadick, in hot Florida. Come on WINTER!!!

    3. Rita and Don, As far as I know, the only British census that is searchable in the way you want is the 1881. None of the others have been extensively indexed or recorded electronically, although you may find that individual family history societies have indexed their own particular areas. I believe a 1% or 2% sample of the 1851 census is available on the internet, too. You can access the 1891 for Scotland through the Scots Origins site (www.origins.net ) but you have to pay a fee. The only other way from outside GB is to order the relevant census sections through your local LDS centre, but as I say they are not indexed and it will be a L-O-N-G job to trawl through the millions of addresses in search of your names. The 1901 census, as you may know, will be made available next year on the internet, again for a fee. Hope you are not too discouraged by this!
