Hi there! Will the person who responded to my request for information about these families please re-send the E-mail - I have had problems with PC and server and lost a fair amount of mail. Many thanks. Sybil Farrell
I am researching my family and a particular John M. CORKE born in 1865 roughly in BISHOP NYMPTON DEVON. His parents were John CORKE and a Mary E. CORKE who, in 1881 resided at 5 St. Philip's Road Norwich Norfolk. His sister was Florence R. ( possibly Rhoda ) CORKE born in Scotland in 1864. Another sister was Alice M. ( possibly MURNANE or MAWBY) born in Bishop Nympton Devon in 1867. There brother Charles George CORKE was my great grandfather.Any information that might be out there will be welcome Thank you KANUK
I am looking for information about the West family - lived at Greys, in Cornard near Sudbury. I know that Thomas West of Greys married Grissel Clopton (daughter of John Clopton of Kentwell Hall) in the late 1530s and would like to know more about the Wests - they are not in the Visitation of Suffolk 1561 Any information gladly received Tamsin Lewis
Hi there!, Am just re-posting my interests. If anyone comes across a birth/baptism for Robert Scott c.1705 at Layham, Suffolk (or nearby) please contact me. Any information gratefully received. He married at Layham 1729 and moved soon afterwards to Stratford St. Mary. Henry Buck from Cockley Cley married Eleanor Chettleborough in the early part of the 1800's at Norwich. She came from a large family, mostly girls, from Rackley and then family settled in Norwich. A later Buck (Percy) became organist at Westminster Abbey. Any help/suggestions gratefully received. Regards. Sybil Farrell
I am new to this list and would like to inquire if anyone has ties to the PEPPER family who may have moved out from London. I am currently trying to trace descendants of Drury Pepper (1809-1877) who had 10 children by three different wives. Drury was one of the 12 children of William PEPPER & Ann JONES. I have more information that I will share with anyone who has an interest in this family. Emilie in New England
Looking for information on this family: Simon BURLINGHAM, b 1490, d. 1556 Sharrington, Norfolk m. Agnes ____ 1529 Sharrington, Norfolk Children: Peter 1530-1598 William 1533- Giles 1535- Nicholas 1532- Thomas 1537- Amy 1539- Ann 1540- Thank you. Audri Badman-Chasteen
Isn't serendipity marvellous! Only last week I acquired the following: 'Justly Celebrated Ales - A Directory of Norfolk Brewers - 1850-1990' by Andrew P. Davison published in 1991 by (who else!) the Brewery History Society (ISBN 1 873966 01 6). Essentially a directory by place name but indexed by surname ... and before anyone asks, I am prepared to see whether people are listed but not to transcribe the contents! I'm not having much luck with finding grandpa BROWN's marriage - I suspect it happened outside Norfolk - so I will be unsubscribing soon. Thanks to everyone who has offered encouragement.
