    1. [EEA] 1891 British Census
    2. Don Shadick
    3. List Members, Would someone please provide an answer. The British Government held a Census on 5 April 1891. We read all about Census information for 1881, but see nothing for 1891. How do we obtain Census information from 1891 for the surnames Seaden and Seadon? The two names are the same family, just someone, a Census taker could not spell, so part of the family ended up with a den and the other a don. The name originated as don in Bury St. Edmunds & Woopit, Suffolk in the 1700's. We would appreciate any answers even a guess. Thank You for your help. Sincerely, Rita (nee Seadon) & Don Shadick

    2. Rosemary & Stan Rodliffe
    3. William Lee's Enquiry into the Sewerage, Drainage and Supply of Water, and the Sanitary Condition of the Inhabitants of the Borough of King's Lynn, 1853, provides an uncomfortable reminder of the appalling conditions in which townspeople lived in the mid 19th century. His Minutes of Inspection include quotes from many of the folk who had to endure the stench and disease. A transcript is on-line at: http://pws.prserv.net/Kings.Lynn where you should select the 'What's new' button from the navigation bar. It should be straightforward after that. Alternatively use the site search to look for a mention of your ancestors. Good luck with your searches. Rosemary Rodliffe NFHS 5151

    3. My family and I will be most greatful for any connections you can help us make between the CAVER family we've uncovered from mid-1500s in East Anglia and our first known U.S. ancestor, Henry Caver of western South Carolina, awarded four land grants by George III in early 1770s. Equally welcome will be any leads about whether our surname is (if so. how) linked to surnames CAWVER, CAVERS, CAUVER and CAVERE. Many thanks indeed! Michael D.
