Our Kelly's were becoming seriously damaged by frequent use for our own researches and look-ups for others. We decide that the time had come to scan the pages and save them on a CD so that we could preserve the originals. We now have swifter access to pages but perhaps more importantly we are now able to share our resources with others. We have a few copies of the following, available at a modest cost to cover our costs of production, postage & packing: Kelly's Directory of Cambridgeshire, 1900 Kelly's Directory of Norfolk, 1900 If you are interested please go to http://pws.prserv.net/Kings.Lynn/ThornburyPump/index.html to see what the presentation looks like. Unfortunately we do not have room for many scanned images on the site so we have chosen a few pages about King's Lynn, on one of which great grandfather Thomas William Blomfield is shown. Please note that the CDs require Windows 95 v4+, 98, 2000, NT or later. Nothing is installed on hard drive; scans are viewed as web pages using Internet Explorer 4+, Netscape Navigator 4+ or equivalent browser. Also remember that scans will load much more quickly from CD than they will from the web! Please feel free to pass this information to anyone else who might be interested. Rosemary Rodliffe

Following a posting to West Riding Mailing list I received a response including an attachment which I very foolishly tried (and failed) to open. As it was a response from a list I assumed it to be legit. It wasn't. It came in the form of the BMD shortcut logo, file name fun.pif Don't be as daft as me!
