Bill, There appears to be a link with Middleton in Teesdale for my RAINE and BEADLE which I am working on at present in the 1851 census. Do the following sound of interest. I have a Joseph RAINE, game watcher, married to Margaret BEADLE 13 May 1868 Teesdale. Joseph RAINE birth 1833? Hunderthwaite, Yorkshire father also Joseph RAINE, road labourer. Margaret BEADLE birth 1846?-1848? Ettersgill, Durham father is John BEADLE, lead miner.
