Looking for a connection to my Maternal Gr. Grandparents. Ralph Smith, born 1824 at Richmond, Yorks. and his wife Barbara SMITH, born 1825 at Gateshead, Co. Durham. were living at 16, Maple Street, Bishopwearmouth, Co. Durham in 1881, according to the 1881 census. Their daughter, Elizabeth SMITH, was born 1858 at West Hartlepool according to the 1881 census. Elizabeth SMITH married Frederick RENNEY, born 1857 at Sunderland, in 1878 at Sunderland. Probably at Holy Trinity Church. They raised 8 children. Ralph and Barbara SMITH were Quakers, but Frederick and Elizabeth Renney were not, they were C.of E. Any connections ???
