Hi There, I couldn't help but notice the reference to Barningham as my wifes family came from that village. I have spoken tonight to my mother in law (now 88) but she cant recollect any family of that name living in Barningham in her time there. However, she knew of a Dent family living at Silver Hill, Newsham Back Road. That is between Barningham and its neigbouring village Newsham. I have been doing family history for about 15 years and I think I found the Barningham records at the County Records Office at the County Hall in Durham.
