I have recently found that the wife of one of my PLUMPTON'S was Mary Jane Jackson born in Carlton, Durham according to the 1881 (age 28) and 1901 (age 48) census. This would place her birth as @1852/3 and after the 1851 census. Question??? Would Carlton be included in the Stockton on Tees census for 1861? I don't have an address or a father's name. I believe the village had very few occupants and was primarily an iron works. Does anyone have access to this census? If so I would appreciate a look up Thanks for any advice or help. Nancy Vogt.
