    3. Margaret, you are correct that the 1881 British (?) Census on the LDS web site does not cover Scotland. Here is you family from the CDs: Dwelling: Shepherds House Census Place: Durness, Sutherland, Scotland Source: FHL Film 0203405 GRO Ref Volume 048 EnumDist 7 Page 1 Marr Age Sex Birthplace Angus SINCLAIR W 49 M Durness, Sutherland, Scotland Rel: Head Occ: Shepherd Johan SINCLAIR U 22 F Durness, Sutherland, Scotland Rel: Daur Occ: Shepherds Daur Jane SINCLAIR U 16 F Durness, Sutherland, Scotland Rel: Daur Occ: Shepherds Daur William SINCLAIR 14 M Durness, Sutherland, Scotland Rel: Son Occ: Shepherds Son Fairlie SINCLAIR 10 F Durness, Sutherland, Scotland Rel: Daur Occ: Scholar William ROBINSON M 49 M England Rel: Visitor Occ: Iron Miner (Unemployed) Ellen ROBINSON M 50 F Lanark, Lanark, Scotland Rel: Visitor Occ: Iron Miners Wife Kevin. -----Original Message----- From: m.oshea1 [mailto:m.oshea1@ntlworld.com] Sent: 30 December 2002 14:13 To: ENG-DURHAM-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [D'hamYorks] 1881 Census - lookup Does anyone have the 1881 census on CD? If so, I would be very grateful for the following lookup: William Robinson b. 1832 Loftus (Yorks). Some time ago I did find William on the 1881 census visiting his in-laws in Scotland, but can't remember/find the details. The online census doesn't seem to cover Scotland unfortunately (unless I am doing something wrong). I believe he was an ironstone miner. Many thanks. Margaret
