Hi Gill I have recently discovered several HALL families in the 1881 census in middlesbrough which I believe to be ancestors. They all originate from a family in Hutton Rudby in 1851/1861. I have found the unusual name Robinson HALL cropping up several times over the census years. The families I have found in 1881 are Charles HALL (60) + family, Stockton St, Middlesbrough Jane HALL (49) + family, High Wilson St, Mid. Robinson HALL (30) Fleetham St, Mid. Joseph HALL (46) Northallerton Thomas HALL (41) High Dean St, Mid. These 5 families include another 29 HALL's, too many to mention here!! I've also found related families in Hutton Rudby and Ingleton (my great grandfather). Looking on the IGI I've found "possible" ancestors back to 1759 in Whorlton. Also in 1841 do you know what FS stands for for Elizabeth? In 1861 census, I read it as Benjamin son of Charles and Mary, Benjamin's wife Jane and their children Robinson, John and Mary Ann.
