    3. Dear Raymond, The Armstrongs, I am unsure where in Durham they came from. The Corcorans are said to have originated in Ireland but when is the question I have yet to find. My grandmother Mary Agnes Corcoran was born in Sunderland Durham in 1902. Her father was James Joseph Corcoran and her mother was Anne Stanley. Cousins have said they came from Ireland but the 1901 census of Sunderland yielded no sign of this family so I am now back to square one, with no idea of the age of my great grandfather - james to even get a starting link. cheers, Ann
