Hi Ruth Your names don't ring any bells. But they saying that I haven't found a link yet. I have just posted a list of the Barkers on the Durham/Yorks Mailing List. I have a black leather bound book which was printed and given to all the descendants of William Barker. This was in 1913/14....so I don't think your Barkers are my Barkers as they would have been listed in the book. The book is marvellous as it has actual photographs of the descendants. I am keen to find others with copies....hopeful they will be out there somewhere. Also did you know that the familysearch.org have now got the 1881 British Census, 1880 USA Census and 1881 Canadian Census online. All the best in your research, and you never know, we maybe in touch again. Johanna on 15/11/02 22:13, Joseph A. & Ruth O. Hi It is me again. On the 1881 census as well, I have a George Alderson given at same address as Joseph Scott, my great Grandfather and his wife Sarah Isabella and children Elizabeth Ann, Jane, Edith Hilton and William. Another man also at that address was Joseph Barnes. Both Barnes and Alderson were given as boarders. bye from Beth in West Oz ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anne Clarkson" <annefc@intekom.co.za> To: <ENG-DURHAM-YORKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 16, 2002 7:44 PM Subject: [D'hamYorks] Interests > My interests are as follows: > > ALDERSON: William and his wife Mary (nee JOBLING) moved around between > South Cowton, Shildon, Yarm and Seaton Carew.
