Is there anyone on the list who could help me trace what happened to this gentleman. He was born in 1900 in Norton to James Jordison APPLETON & Maria (nee DENT). I do not know whether or not he married.
Has anyone got ANY female Bakers married into their line with the father being John Baker seaman. John Baker could of been deceased as he had *died before 1871. [* not confirmed] Sorry for the multi posting but I am unable to continue my search until I find these marriages. Help would be appreciated
Barry, Thanks for the 1871 info, it is of great interest as I was unaware of the stepdau Jane as she does not appear with the family in the later 1881 and 1891 Census also Joseph RAINE has a birth place of Hunderthwaite, which is in the parish of Romaldkirk granted so I will have to hunt further. I'm interested in Abraham RICHMOND who appears in my family tree as my husbands GGG Grandmothers 2nd husband! The 1881 census shows him living in Pudsey, Yorkshire aged 45yrs his place of birth is given as Darlington, Durham. I have managed to trace a Abraham RICHMOND aged 14yrs on the 1851 census for Darlington (St Cuthbert) he is shown living with Ellen RICHMOND (aged77yrs), George RICHMOND (aged 40yrs) and Margaret RICHMOND (aged 12yrs). I don't know what the relationship was between these people. I have also found a baptism for an Abraham RICHMOND at St Cuthberts on 3rd Feb 1836 - the baptism record shows he was the son of Christopher and Ann. So, I seem to have found Abraham in 1851 but then I loose him until he appears in Pudsey in 1881! I'd love to be able to find out where in was in the intervening years and when/why he moved to Pudsey - does anyone have any suggestions of how I might go about this? Many thanks in advance. As I understand it, the price of obtaining B, M, & D certificates is going up sometime in the next few months. Since there are a number from the Durham area I need, I'm hoping someone can give me some advice regarding obtaining them through the post in the most expeditious fashion. In many cases I know the St. Catherine's index numbers, in other cases specific dates, and in a few, just guesstimates of dates. I've been told that the cheapest & most straightforward way is to get them from the local registry office. Most of the events occurred in Kelloe Parish, so which office would I need to contact? And what information will they need in order to produce a certificate. Are there options, e.g., photocopy versus certified copy, and what are the prices? If anyone can shorthand this and forward a web address where I could get this info, that would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time and consideration. Dave Moore, Webster, New York, USA
